Kathryn Birstein

I have spent 35 years working with Microsoft technologies, with more than a decade focused on Power Platform. Today, I help organizations build Power Platform solutions, automate processes, develop Copilot Studio agents, and put the governance and deployment practices around them that make lasting adoption possible.

My career began in independent Microsoft consulting and grew through enterprise SharePoint architecture, SQL Server, and business intelligence into the full Power Platform. I have worked as an architect and hands-on developer for large companies, federal organizations, and consulting firms, including full-time roles at Cognizant Technology Solutions, Insight Enterprises and Chainbridge Solutions, and consulting roles at JPMorgan Chase, UBS, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, TIAA, the New York Power Authority, Martha Stewart Living, etc.

I enjoy the work that happens between an idea and a dependable production solution: listening to the people who do the work, clarifying requirements, designing the data and application, building the difficult pieces, and explaining the result in language everyone can understand. My projects have included complex Canvas apps, model-driven apps, workflows, desktop automation, data integrations, governance programs, and agent use cases.

Teaching and community have also been important parts of my work. I have taught Microsoft Power Platform training courses, organized and run SharePoint and Power Platform user groups in New York, and spoken at many Microsoft conferences. I bring that same practical, accessible approach to custom training for client teams.

I now work through Birstein Consulting LLC, offering Power Platform consulting, Copilot Studio development, and training.
